| | | Favors are often the most dreaded part of wedding planning, partly because there are so many choices. They are intended to be a sort of "thank you" to wedding guests, and modern couples are getting much more creative in what they pick. The most common favors fall into two categories: edible or keepsake. Cost will vary based on the type of favor, number ordered, presentation and personalization. | | |
| Typical costs: | - Jordan almonds, a traditional favorite, cost between $6 and $9 per pound for all-white almonds. Drawstring pouches run about $0.19 each but can cost as much as $1.66 each if they are embellished or embroidered. Small white boxes (usually "truffle" boxes) cost roughly $0.37 - $0.99 each. Ribbon printed with the couple's names and/or wedding date cost between $0.90 and $2.53 per yard.
- Many couples choose to personalize their favors. For example, mints in a tin decorated with a personalized label cost roughly $1.85 to $2.75 each, while chocolate bars with personalized labels run between $1.75 and $2.50 each.
- Candles are popular choices for non-edible, keepsake favors. Votive candles in holders cost about $1.15 - $2.50 each.
- Potpourri sachets cost between $1.50 - $1.95.each
- One of the newest trends in favors is a customized CD with songs played during the wedding and/or reception, or favorites of the couple. CDs cost between $0.10 and $0.40 each. Labels and CD cases or envelopes cost roughly $0.30 -$0.35 each. You'll also have to factor in the time and software cost to burn the music onto the CDs.

| I helped my niece Cari choose the favors for her September beach wedding. We shopped around the Internet, and though we found the same items on several Web sites, there was one Web site that offered a way to make her chosen favor unique. She wanted the "Forever" Frosted-Glass Photo Coasters that are packaged two to a box. At www.myweddingfavors.com, they have these "Personality Boxes", where you get to choose the design of the box to match your personality and your decor. She had 20 designs to choose from that ranged from traditional to fun, and the favors only cost $1.49 each. She picked a fun design, because that truly suits her personality, and I can't tell you how much they added to the wedding reception tables! The guests commented all evening long on how terrific the tables looked and how pleased they were to get a practical wedding favor. It's always nice to find a Web site with something different to offer, and www.myweddingfavors.com was a stand-out. |

My budget was very limited. I couldn't spend more then $1.50 for Favor, so after intensive searching I found these adorable heart cookie cutters in Heart shaped Organza bags. They were perfect. I was able to match the organza bag with my wedding color (Pink) and my theme was Hearts. Everybody Loved them and those whom I told how much I paid for them were in shock.
I also orderd m Bridal party gifts from the same website. www.favorsdepot.com |
