| Body scrubs are mixtures of sugar or salt granules and various scented oils used to exfoliate dead skin and remove toxins through the pores. Fees are defined by the type and quality of salt or sugar massaged into the body. Common scrubs include seaweed, lavender, rosemary, shea butter and honey. | What should be included: |
- Scrubs are typically administered lying on a warm table. Although the scrub is typically applied from the neck to the feet, a towel is used to cover intimate parts of the body.
- Technicians begin by applying a layer of scrub over one section of the body and gently massaging the mixture in to loosen dead skin. The technician will rinse each section and dry it with a towel before moving on to the next region.
- Some spas wrap briefly wrap customers in a warm sheet or provide steam therapy at the end of the session. In most cases, customers take showers after the treatment to ensure all the granules and oils are removed.
- Discounts:
- Performing a body scrub at home costs a fraction of the price of spa service. Scrubs are applied in the tub or shower with your hand or a loofah sponge.
- The Body Shop sells 18 scrubs under $26, as well as an exfoliating towel, for $6.
